I often write arts & culture articles for LGBT, feminist, and/or pop culture publications such as South Florida Gay News, PopMatters, The WIP, and Elevate Difference.

Interviews have included writers Dorothy Allison and Justin Torres; activist Kylar Broadus; actor George Takei; artist and writer Cristy C. Road; musicians Janis Ian, Cris Williamson, and Amy Ray; filmmaker Anna Margarita Albelo; comics Jessica Kirson and Erin Foley as well as others.

In July 2011, the Ms. Magazine Blog referenced my article, “Feminist in Wonderland: The Women of Comic Con,” which originally appeared at The WIP.

As a creative writer, my poetry, fiction, and nonfiction have been published in several literary magazines including Berkeley Poetry ReviewSinister Wisdom, Gertrude Press, BlazeVOX, Battered Suitcase, The Pedestal Magazine, and Court Green.

My poem, “Dear Virginia,” was nominated by Lavender Review for a Pushcart Prize in 2013, and my short story “Winter Clothes,” was selected as a runner-up in the 2012 Kenyon Review Short Fiction Contest.
